Chrono Trigger Remake Confirmed For Nintendo DS

Japanese RPG fans know that Chrono Trigger ranks among the best console role-playing games ever made. Its imaginative story line, vibrant graphics and memorable characters combined to create something special when the epic adventure debuted on the SNES back in 1995.

Rumors of a remake have circulated for years, but nothing concrete ever materialized. A group of fans even began work on a 3D update of the game, but they were shut down after Square Enix caught wind of their copyright-infringing plans.

Now, the company has confirmed that they will be bringing an updated remake of Chrono Trigger to the Nintendo DS. The news began as a rumor when scans purporting to depict the game appeared on message boards around the Internet yesterday. However, the rumor was more or less confirmed today when fans spotted a telltale sign on the company's official website.
