Suda51, the enigmatic superstar game developer, will bring one of his classic games from the PS2 to the DS this fall. Suda51 (aka Goichi Suda) is the man behind cult hits like Killer7 on the Gamecube and No More Heroes on the Wii. He continues his recent trend of working with Nintendo systems by bringing the murder mystery title Flower, Sun, Rain to the diminutive DS.
Flower, Sun, Rain is a point-and-click adventure title with a bizarre island setting and an equally unusual cast of characters. Originally made for the PlayStation 2 in 2001, the game has never made it out of Japan until now. It has been high on the wish lists of every Suda51 fan since the release of Killer7 on the Gamecube brought him to the attention of gamers in the West.
Flower, Sun, and Rain takes place on an island called Lospass, with the Flower, Sun, and Rain hotel placed at the center. The game is an intriguing mystery adventure very much in the vein of the film Groundhog Day. You play a detective with the task of locating and defusing a bomb. This is accomplished by solving thought-provoking puzzles, each with a range of possible outcomes. Solving the mystery of what is happening to the main character and his surroundings is necessary before he eventually goes insane.
