Konami Digital Entertainment officially announced today that the company is bringing their Japanese adventure game Time Hollow to North America. The game will be a graphic point-and-click adventure in the tradition of games like Phoenix Wright and Trace Memory, and will have a similar anime-inspired art style. The April issue of Nintendo Power speculated that the company might consider an English localization of the game, and now it appears to be official.

In Time Hollow, players journey through a time-bending adventure to solve the mysteries of the present by changing events of the past. "A new franchise for Konami, Time Hollow delivers a unique adventure that will challenge and intrigue gamers with the combination of a deep storyline and clever puzzles," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami. "The game has a very unique look and style as the writing and cinematics of the game were done by some of the most gifted and popular talent in Japan."

The game will make clever use of the touch screen capabilities of the DS. In order to open portals between the past and present, players simply use the stylus to draw them on the screen. With an innovative story and an unusual premise, we can't wait to get our hands on Time Hollow. Right now the game is slated for a fall release in North America, so we don't have too long to wait.
